Meeting of Marists at Marist College Mindelheim

The weeks before Easter offer a variety of ways to prepare for this season. Each years the pupils at the school are invited to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Several priests are around the whole school for two days ready for them to receive the Sacrament. Weekly each Friday it has been customary for many years to offer the opportunity for Mass in the college chapel before classes begin and this has been taken up. Read more »

Dessau farewell

On Sunday, 22nd February the Parish of St. Peter and Paul`s in Dessau gathered for a farewell mass for the Brothers. Bishop Gerhard Feige presided at the mass, and Propst Nachtwei, the parish priest, concelebrated along with Father Heinrich Haskamp of the Marist Fathers` community, which has been in Dessau since 1992. Two Marist Brothers from India visit Scotland

It is now eight years since staff and students from Lawside Academy (now St. Paul`s Academy) in Dundee initiated “The India Village Project”. The project supports the work of the Marist Brothers in Mangamanuthu, India. As well as St. Marcellin`s High School in Mangamanuthu, the schools in Scotland support the Rainbow project which provides help for people who have AIDS / HIV. The project has developed to include provision of housing for local people. Read more »

Moria Foundation celebrates 20th anniversary

The Moria Foundation in Nijmegen, which provides after-care to young men after they leave prison, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. As part of the celebration Moria`s Board and staff wanted to reflect with other people on their experiences over the past twenty years with the participants in the programme. And so a conference was held on November 13th at the villa that houses the project. The theme of the conference was, “Finding a balance between freedom and rules.”  Read more »

Spirituality and vocation


Province workshop at Freising

On the weekend of All Saints, the Marists from our Province came together in a fraternal atmosphere at Freising (Bavaria) for a workshop on the theme: “The Spirituality and the Vocation of Marists”. Under the very learned leadership of Brother Tony Leon from Australia and Bernice Reintjens from the Netherlands we were invited to listen to some presentations to help us focus on the differing ways to pray.
