International meeting in Rome for the closure of the Year of Consecrated Life
Over 5000 members of various Institutes, among them 25 Marist Brothers responded to the invitation of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CICLSAL) to attend a meeting in Rome from 28th January to 2nd February.

The mission periodical “Kontinente” celebrates its golden jubilee
At a grand ceremony in Cologne on 20th January 2016 the 50th anniversary of the Catholic missionary magazine Kontinente was celebrated in the presence of the Papal Nuncio to Germany and the Archbishop of Accra, Ghana.

Recollection Day for Belgian Brothers
During the recent meeting of Brothers aged 70 and younger it was decided to organise a Recollection Day for any Brothers in Belgium who would be interested. And so, on the 30th December, twelve Brothers gathered at the Norbertine Abbey at Leffe, near Dinant, to bring the year 2015 to a close in a spirit of prayer and thanksgiving. Read more »

Gathering of Marist Brothers in Ireland
The Brothers in Ireland gathered in the community in Moyle Park on Saturday, 28th November. Brother Brendan opened the meeting by spending a few moments to remember Brother Benedict McGranahan, who died on 25th September, and to welcome Brother Wilfrid Harrison, who has joined the Marian College community. The morning programme was devoted to Safeguarding matters. Brother Brendan spoke in his introduction about the impact of revelations of abuse, which begun 22 years ago. We have all learned a great deal over the past 20 years. Fortunately, the Brothers have benefited from good leadership during that time.
Third term for Brother Provincial
The Superior General announced that Brother Brendan Geary will renew his term as Provincial of West-Central Europe for a third time in a letter dated November 10th.
Meetings of two European Teams: Vocations and Mission
Two commissions within the European Marist Conference (CEM), the European Team for the Pastoral Care of Young People and Vocations and the European Mission Team each had a meeting at the end of October.
