Solidarity

FMSI thanks its donors

While waiting to make a complete balance of the state of 2015, regarding the funds that have been collected and used, FMSI (Marist Foundation for International Solidarity) thanks those who have given donations to support its activities during the past year.

Besides the usual, substantial contribution of the General House of the Marist Brothers (Rome), Founder of FMSI, the Foundation has received generous contributions from:

  • Marist Province of Central America (Guatemala)
  • Marist Province of the United States (USA)
  • Marist Province of L’Hermitage (France)
  • Maristen-Fürsorge- und Missionsverein (Germany)
  • Sacred Heart College of Auckland (New Zealand)
  • Association of Former Pupils of San Leone Magno, Rome (Italy)
  • Theatre company Artisti da sé, Rome (Italy)

without forgetting all the private individuals, religious communities and schools which from several parts of the Marist world have sent donations for the projects of FMSI.

Significant amounts have been received for the Blue Marists of Aleppo (Syria), the post-emergency reconstruction of the typhoon Hayan (Philippines), the Marist School of Mwanza (Tanzania), the construction of a school and dormitory in Moulvibazar (Bangladesh), a Primary School programme for evacuated children of Bobandana (Democratic Republic of Congo) and for the Solidarity Fund of San Leone Magno.

The Foundation has also benefited from contributions from:

  • Misean Cara (Ireland)
  • Italian Episcopal Conference
  • Italian Caritas
  • Dutch private Foundation

at the presentation of projects promoted for the Marist missions in the world, especially in the educational sphere.

Everything given by the supporters or donors is used in projects for children or for activities for the protection and defence of the rights of minors, and the cost of the structure of FMSI is totally covered by the annual contribution of the Founder.
